Pelicans have reportedly discussed a Rudy Gay trade with Kings

The Pelicans may have won two straight, but there's a belief within the organization that a talent upgrade is needed in order for the team to climb out of its early-season hole and make a legitimate run at earning a postseason spot.
New Orleans GM Dell Demps has admitted to looking into trade possibilities, but declined to name specific players the team may have been targeting. According to multiple reports (including this one from John Reid of NOLA.com), the Pelicans and Kings have had conversations on a deal centered around Rudy Gay.
Ryan Anderson is the biggest asset the Pelicans have that they'd be willing to trade, mainly because he's going to be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and will command starter's money on a long-term deal, even though New Orleans chooses to bring him off the bench.
Gay is a legitimate scorer who would certainly add a little something to the New Orleans offense. But it's likely that the Pelicans will hold onto Anderson a little longer to see if any better offers materialize before the Feb. 18 trade deadline passes.
When you're as good as Stephen Curry is, you probably know it. The Golden State Warriors point guard sure knows that he's the best shooter in the game, as evidenced by one play in particular in the Warriors' Saturday night win over the Sacramento Kings
The shot -- and the subsequent turning to talk to the Kings bench before the 3 even went in -- is what will garner most of the attention on this one, and it rightfully should. It's as impressive for Curry to do this as it was ridiculous when Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young did something similar .
Don't overlook that great reverse pass by Curry to Green to start the sequence, though, or the assist from Klay Thompson, who had the confidence to pass the ball to a spot Curry didn't even occupy. This team is playing at another level from everyone else, and Curry has no problem letting other teams know about it. Just ask the Kings.:
